FME

No... I didn't trade FME. However, ACV and DFR did manage to F-ME today.

DFR break of 11/15 ?
I cannot see an entry on ACV.

Tried shorting MBI and could not get shares.

yes on DFR (11/15) and ACV was 4/15 which was a bit wide but it rested on R2 and closed at the ORH. Took off at first then came flying back down. I was able to dump half when it hit the OR again. ACV was just a nasty little you know what.

I nixed mbi right away since I saw it gapped down yesterday as well. I think I picked that up from you. The whole 'if it gapped yesterday then I'm not sure I want to mess with it today'. Anyway... it makes sense and I've found that 2nd day gappers generally do not move much. Case could be made that MBI didn't gap down too much yesterday, but when you're hacking away at your list you really don't have too much time to think about things, right?

Another one of those big moving days and not much to show for it :-)

Nice setups are hard to come by.

Could be time to go shopping in longer term accounts.

Did IB have MBI shares to short ?

I tried shorting it at 8/30. Looked like something you would have taken. The volume today was a lot more than yesterday.

yes, there were shares available in IB. Entry looks good... but just look how it's bouncing up. Huge down day and a lot of stock are just sticking their highs or lows. BTW... I've removed R3 and R4 from my charts. I just found they really didn't add much and only hindered me from taking trades. Between R1, R2, S1, S2 and the ORH or ORL... that's enough support or resistance ;)

Yes, it bounced back pretty good. I kept MBI in my list, trying to abide to item 3 of your top ten lessons from 2007 :-)

Hate it when I pull the trigger and cannot borrow the shares. There is no way for me to know ahead of time.

IB has a feature that shows whether a stock is shortable or not. I used to hate getting all excited, place the order then getting a 'no shares available' dialog box. Maybe Etrade has the same but you don't know it.
