Automatic Fib. Lines

Just got an email back from Jerry Medved from Quotetracker that read as follows:

"No, the lines have to be added manually."

Now, he sounds like a good enough guy to give him the option of hearing me out. So I replied back to him mentioning how much of a great option this would be and how my readers would really enjoy this (cha-ching). I also mentioned how the competition (esignal) also offers this.

Let's see how he responds. I don't want to unleash the power of the OONR7 Nation just yet.

OONR7: Jerry is a great guy, who personally helped me solve a problem that ended up being on my end. He goes the extra mile for his customers and it shows. Think about this from his perspective...he has to make development decisions based on his entire customer base; if he implemented every unique suggestion to come his way, the software would be bloated to at least a terabyte. I think we need to make it obvious to him, just how many people want this capability. The Trader-X method is quite popular, and his trademark fibs (yesterday's low/high to OR high/low) deserve their place in trading history. And I imagine the implementation is extremely easy.

For my own selfish reasons, I hope this happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would save me so much time and energy.

I just noticed you're trying to get intraday fibs, instead of the Trader-X fibs. Hmm, can you make it known to Jerry that the Trader-x fibs are needed as well? I think many of your readers (actually probably most of them) are using the Trader-X fibs.

jason... I have thought about it from his perspective and see that a good portion of my readers could become QT subscribers if I promote them heavily because I believe they are the great charting program out there. This isn't just a feature that will benefit me.

I have already brought it to Jerry's attention regarding the fibs. from yesterday's low... but remember, I'm making the pitch so I want to get intraday fibs :)

OONR7- a related QT problem that I see is that each chart plots pre-market data automatically and I have to manually select timeframes so that does not get plotted. There is no way to save that as a chart - I emailed the person at QT (Jerry?) about this and he said there is no way to save that as a chart setting.

I find that the 5ema line is more accurate when I exclude premarket data - otherwise you get false positives (entry points that appear to be resting on 5ema because of the skewed data points of the pre-market trades). Do you exlude pre-market data in looking at your charts? This is another feature I wish QT would allow.

I'll take the auto fib tracing anyday and used the saved time to exclude pre-market data on each chart.

tomt: I do not use pre-market data in my charts. To remove, go to OPTIONS>EDIT PREFERENCES>CHARTS>MULTI-DAY TIMEFRAMES and then you'll see a pull down menu that says: Default show pre/after markt... you want to select NEVER.

If you don't want pre-market data... that will solve the problem. But, even with pre-market data, the 5ema shouldn't be affected by pre-market info.
