Late start

Had some stuff to take care of today so I wasn't able to get a watchlist going till about 10:30 or so. I ended up just using the IB scan and really didn't find anything of interest (as of this post).

CDS & RCL were playable

I was looking at CDS but it was hard to trust since there were quite a few upper tails. RCL just took off... couldn't justify an entry.

gt: I see Eyal also played SGP but I don't see where you all entered. Both the 15 and 10-min charts look like the 5ema is pretty far away from price. Esplain por favor!!!!

on CDS - it was a Trader-X B&B and later and inside bar at/near the opening price Support line bar 8 on 15Min chart(. on the daily, CDS was setting up for a reversal pattern.

RCL was a Fib extension continuation trade.

i saw a lot of trades today and just watched. the one trade i took was a "twitvhy fingr" entry... got out with a small loss :0

RCL, made a tonne.
OONR7 , you should use 5 MIN chart. It is so easy , i can't believe it myself.

00NR7,

Could I ask when a stock is forming a bullish hammer in a downtrend, where do you place a buy stop order, simply above the break of the high of the candle? Let's look at it even on the daily charts. BCSI put in a nice hammer today on the Daily. I take it you would go long it it takes out $47.02??

Thanks, John

2nd question, my chart shows the QQQQ's making a Bearish Thrusting pattern on the Daily Chart. Could someone tell me what the difference is between that and a Bullish piercing pattern? Likes like the same damn candlestick pattern to me. .

Thanks,

O7,

I used the 30 min. I entered SGP on the break of 7th bar. 5 6 and 7 were NR7, 7 was right against the ORL for 30. The 5MA was pretty close. It did not go anywhere and I exited at 28.15 for 1R.

i watched both BCSI and FWLT (not sure of stock symbol Wheeler sumtin in the name); those just looked plain hard to trade - really couldnt get a prime set-up. i tried to short RDN at 14.68 - only 15 shares available to short! :0 thats the way it goes when you are not "flowing", you get a decent set-up and there are NO shares to short. :)

i also looked at DRYS, but the spread was pretty wide and it was jumping around- the kidna stock you could drop a buck on real fast - not my kinda deal.

Alot of FAST reversals from Briefing WL, CNN, TI(5%), misc premkt: aapl ldk crox tbsi thrx jrjc stv crnt sndk, sgp total of 14 naz(mostly) >$12. Just enlarged my 6 charts per page so I can see them with 1" 5" charts then 15" as time goes on. Solars. I missed alot gotta have it ready before the market opens. More relaxing for me

john s: I'm not a swing trader and Jamie may be better able to answer the daily question but I would place a buy stop above the break of the high. However, looking at the daily chart, I see major resistance at the 47.50 area along with a downward sloping 20ema. Not sure this would be a good time to go long off the daily. Just MHO.

Second question: I know a bullish piercing pattern needs to close above the midway point of the previous bearish candle. I don't think the thrusting pattern requires that and may be why it's more of a continuation move than a potential reversal candle.

Next question??? Yes, you sir... in the back row.
